Now is your opportunity to choose from and sponsor one of 16 life-sized animals that will stampede the streets for Rochester in the summer of 2003.
The ESL Animal Scramble promises to be yet another of the area's highest profile charitable events - in the remarkable tradition of Horses on Parade, which raised over $1 million for more than 100 local charities! And the ESL Animal Scramble is presented by one of the area's most prominent businesses - ESL Federal Credit Union.
Founded by George Eastman in 1920, ESL Federal Credit Union is one of the nation's largest and most successful credit unions. A full-service institution with $2.2 billion in assets, ESL serves 215,000 members worldwide through the Internet, an extensive ATM network, and 20 local branches. The company is headquartered at 100 Kings Highway South in Rochester and can be found on the Internet at www.esl.org.
The ESL Animal Scramble is a simple concept with community-wide impact. First, local companies, organizations and individuals sponsor life-sized fiberglass animals (we have 16 to choose from). Sponsors then partner with a local artist (artists can be professional or amateur, such as a local school art class) to paint and embellish the animal for display. You will have the opportunity to select a design from hundreds submitted by area artists or you can choose your own artist. All designs must receive prior approval by Out Front Productions before they start any design work.
In May 2003, the ESL Animal Scramble then takes to the streets in and around the Greater Rochester area. You can place your animal in front of your business or in another high-traffic area approved by the City.
In September, all animals will be rounded up for the most impactful portion of the program - the live auction. 100% of the proceeds from the ESL Animal Scramble auction will go directly to local charities - 50% split evenly among six "founding" charities and 50% to the highest bidder's charity of choice.
